Sustainable packaging for your products
Calculating carbon footprint
At JBB we get a lot of questions about sustainable packaging. But what exactly is sustainable packaging? Is paper better than plastic? What is the environmental impact of different materials? All kinds of things are said, but the substantiation is often lacking. Also, the answers are a lot more complex than they seem at first glance.
To gain more insight into these matters, we commissioned an independent agency to investigate the environmental impact of various products. This resulted in a calculation model that can calculate the footprint of a number of our products. View the Dutch or English brochure here.
Paper and cardboard packaging
JBB specialises in developing paper and cardboard packaging. Many are water repellent without the use of plastic coatings or additives. Here are just some of our products:
Paper Sleeves
JBB produces paper sleeves for pot plants and cut flowers. These sleeves are available in various types of paper. They can be produced in many shapes, sizes and thicknesses, and can be printed in seven colours. And most of them can be processed on packaging machines such as the ones from Terra and Crea-Tech. Curious about what we have to offer? Make an appointment and see what's on display in our showroom sometime.
Paper labels
JBB can produce labels in various types and weights of paper. Some of them, such as those pictured here, are water repellent without the use of coatings. The labels can be supplied as affixed to a bamboo stake.
Pot covers
Just like the labels, the pot covers supplied by JBB are also available in various types of paper. While one type of brown paper is better as a surface for printing, another displays more fibres to enhance its sustainable look. At JBB, we produce pot covers in many different shapes and sizes. Don't hesitate to visit us and take a look at what kind of pot cover we can devise for your product.
Tray collar
A tray collar is a luxurious way of packaging your plants without using plastic. These products can be made from various types of cardboard and printed in full colour on both the inside and the outside surfaces. They can also be made to measure so that they fit your tray and are exactly the right height for your plant. A tray collar can even be reusable.
Tray paper
If you want to eliminate the use of plastic sleeves but still protect your plants during transport, tray paper might be the solution. Using tray paper is a relatively inexpensive way of packaging plants without plastic. A special machine has been developed for wrapping the paper around the tray. Tray paper can be produced in the dimensions you require. For more information about tray paper or its wrapping machines, please contact JBB.
